I hope you have all had a wonderful festive break! For us it has been about family!
Creating memories and spending precious time with those we love without the pressures of work.
It’s so easy to become embroiled in the day to day that too many of us forget how important it is to recharge our batteries and spend time with the ones we love! To have fun, be silly and just let go!
But as the holidays start to come to an end it’s important to hold on to the fact that family deserves to be prioritised. Work is important but we must never allow it to impact on our children and our health! We only have one life and creating a balance between work and home life is so important! Without this we will burn out!
I learned this the hard way when my husband passed away suddenly in 2019! He was working around the clock trying to make two businesses work, often working through to 11/12/1am plus weekends. He was a good hardworking man but unfortunately the stress took its toll and he fell asleep at his desk never to wake up!
I don’t write this post for sympathy, I write it as a wake up call to all of you reading this who may be doing the same! Burnout is very real! It kills! My husband was 41 years old at the time and in seemingly perfect health! None of us are immune to stress related burnout!
So whilst you recharge your batteries into the new year, remember to continue to take your evenings and weekends as a chance to recharge also, to read with your children, do crafts, or just unwind with a good book or movie!
Life is short, it’s precious and it’s not something that should be taken for granted.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2023 filled with love, health and happiness!
